
Everything is grating. The bloodcurdling shrieks of small children. Rich expats being rich. Singaporeans pretending to be expats. Singaporeans being inane. Foreign workers eyeing each other up. Foreign workers eyeing you up like banned candy. The depressing realization that I connect with such a minuscule slice of the surrounding humanity.
Also, the impending announcement of the grades.
I would like nothing better to be stranded alone on an island until the semester begins. Subsistence-level amenities will suffice. Shelter, food & water, a knife, Internet, and a solar charger for my iPhone.
