Karaoke is insanely fun. Especially when you’re jammed into a shoebox along with four other people all bent on belting out stuff of their choice. Those Japanese businessmen are really onto something. 

Varying combinations of people were there for

• Mandarin power ballads from the 90s,
• Japanese weepy ballads from the 80s,
• It’s My Life by Bon Jovi,
• to scream and rap
• Lady Gaga’s entire discography

Never mind the godawful song selection (NO JAY-Z!! WTF), the way the songs were randomly organized, the lack of edamame. It was hella awesome. There was a series of rap-offs (each of which I owned, hands down), there was hysterical happiness, there were tears and there were sort-of HTHs. This caustic social potato sort of understood the maxim “be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle”.

I think I will probably never see this adorable bag of oddballs again in months or even years. But it’s gonna be okay. (Just dance)
